NG Sin Wai Javis

The Ambisonic audio is recorded in a swimming pool in Ho Man Tin. There is a garden next to it. Since my job is related to the swimming pool, I think I am familiar with the place and want to discover more about it through the Ambisonic. After the recording, I listened to it a few times and found that it was much different from what I thought.

The listener should know the following: Before listening to the Ambisonic audio, the listener can first imagine they are inside the swimming pool, and a garden is next
to them. Some children are playing, some adults are swimming, and a garden is behind. The listeners are relaxed and lie on the bench next to the swimming pool.

Significance
Before I did the recording, I thought I can recording the water movement sound and swimming sound like kicking so clearly. However, after recording and listening at home, I found the water plumbing sound very loud. Also, the yelling from children and the chatting from adults are very loud. The water movement sound is still clear, but the swimming sound is not so significant. The bird and cicada sound is very soft, so listeners have to pay attention to it. At the beginning of the recording, it is relatively loud as some children play around and yell loudly. They were then asked to go to another side of the pool when their parents found that I had to do the recording. Hence, the children’s sound is slightly softer. At the end of the recording, a western family walks near the recorder. They sat on the poolside and chatted. Some of their words can hear clearly.
